Calculation Policy

At Harrold we base children's maths learning on ensuring that they have experience of the concrete first, then the pictorial followed by the abstract.

This provides a solid foundation for the basis of fluency in children's maths learning.

 Alongside this, children are taught a range of strategies for working through addition, subtraction, multiplication and division operations.
